The ongoing popularity of Main Street market has made Mornington a weekly destination for hundreds of shoppers, bringing a regular boost to the local economy, particularly the cafes. Wednesday regularly is one of the busiest days of the week! “The market is known far and wide, and shares Mornington’s success as a friendly, vibrant place to be. Wednesday is ‘market day’; it’s a part of the town’s culture.” said Briars Ward Councillor Bev Colomb, while Councillor Anne Shaw commented that “Mornington market brings such a diversity of local produce and crafts to our wonderful township, it is a true tradition.” New Briars Ward Councillor Andrew Dixon enthused that “Mornington market is an awesome example of how the people make the place – it’s a huge community event! There is plenty for the whole family whether it’s budding artists or quality street food!”
